New Nebraska DMV Service Tracks Driver’s License and ID Deliveries

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles has launched an online service that tracks the production and mailing status of driver’s licenses and ID cards.

The new service allows customers who have ordered a new license or state ID card to track their card while it is in transit. After applying for a new document, customers will be able to see online when their document has been printed and mailed. Once a document has been mailed, expect it to arrive within 10 days via the U.S. Postal Service.

Nebraska DMV Receives International Award for New Service

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles received an international award recognizing the department’s Fleet eServices.

The Fleet eServices program is an online service where Nebraska businesses can track and renew their vehicle fleets online. Prior to the program’s launch, businesses would have to track each vehicle individually and renew registrations either by mail or in person, many times at multiple county offices.

Scammers Target Nebraska DMV Customers

LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles is aware of illegitimate text messages targeting Nebraskans purporting to be from a DMV office. These unsolicited messages are scams and are not sent by the Nebraska DMV or county treasurers’ offices.

The text messages are often unsolicited messages from unfamiliar phone numbers that claim the recipient either owes, or is owed, a large sum of money to a DMV office. The recipient is then directed to click a link. These links should not be interacted with and the message should be deleted as soon as possible.

Nebraska DMV Launches Test in American Sign Language

LINCOLN – An American Sign Language version of the Operator’s (Car) License Knowledge Test statewide is now available at the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles.

The American Sign Language version of the written test was launched at several pilot locations in November 2020 and deployed statewide in December. The test, available through the Nebraska DMV’s automated testing tablets, features videos of an interpreter signing test questions on screen.
