LINCOLN, NE - The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces the opening of the new Grand Island Service Center in Hall County on Wednesday, August 20. The office is located at 3529 S. Locust St. and will be open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The new location replaces the 121 S. Pine St. office and continues the transformational business model currently used in the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.

Lincoln, NE - The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is launching MC-1, a new web-based
system that will make it easier for motor carriers and reporting services to manage their International
Registration Plan (IRP) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) accounts.

LINCOLN, NE – Effective Monday, May 19, 2025, the Nebraska Department of Motor
Vehicles (DMV) in compliance with new federal regulations, will electronically receive all
medical examiner certification (MEC) for commercial drivers via the Federal Motor Carrier
Safety Administration’s National Registry. Nebraska commercial driver license (CDL) and
commercial learners permit (CLP) holders will no longer supply the DMV with a paper copy

LINCOLN – Today the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced the procedure for
Nebraskans to submit proof of motorcycle course completion to waive the requirement to wear a
helmet as authorized by the passage of LB 138 during the recent legislative session. This provision of
the bill goes into effect on January 1, 2024.

DMV Announces Issuance of Credentials for Ukrainian Nationals

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced today that Ukrainian nationals can now apply for driver licenses and state identification cards as authorized by the Nebraska Legislature.  LB 138, which was signed by Governor Jim Pillen on June 1, 2023,  directed the DMV to issue credentials to persons with a parolee immigration status prior to November 1, 2023.
