IRP Renewal

Eligible Nebraska-based IRP carriers may renew their registration online beginning 45 days before their fleet expiration date. Renewal notices are emailed/mailed (depending on your account settings), the 15th day of the month prior to expiration.

The online renewal process consists of the following three sections:

- Carrier and Ownership Information

Review and update your carrier and ownership information, as needed.

- Mileage Information

If you have prior IRP registration history, report mileage as follows:

- Vehicle Information

Review your fleet and update all applicable vehicle information.

• Carriers must complete the renewal online and update all applicable fleet information. If required, a receipted copy of the current Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Form 2290 must also be uploaded during the renewal process.
• For registrations effective in July, August, or September, carriers may upload either the 2025–2026 or 2026–2027 Form 2290.
• If you are not renewing your vehicle(s), you must return your license plate(s) to our office immediately upon the expiration of the registration.
• Once the DMV has reviewed and approved the online renewal, an invoice will be emailed to the carrier. If paying online your cab card will appear after the payment has been processed.  If you have more than 50 units, your credentials will go to a batch and will be emailed.

NOTE:  You can reprint your cab cards under the reprint tile under the IRP section at any time.
