Nebraska DMV Receives Seventh Award for Website Redesign

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced their seventh award in a little over year since the redesigned DMV website went live in August 2017. The Silver Government Website Award was presented as part of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts Annual W3 Awards. Other awards received recently include those for graphic and interactive design, communication, mobile design, and creativity.

“Feedback from customers and external organizations for the DMV website redesign has been extremely positive,” said Rhonda Lahm, Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles. “One of our main aims is to make services easier to use and more accessible for our customers. We are continually looking for ways to improve how we interact with customers and make the services we provide more convenient. The State DMV is always seeking new ways to expand our online offering and for many services the entire transaction can be completed through the website.”

The State DMV website redesign was a collaborative effort with Nebraska Interactive and is located at dmv.nebraska.gov. The website allows customers to complete a range of services completely online such as, renewing a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), ordering Specialty License Plates, applying for an Ignition Interlock Permit, or purchasing a 72 hour Fuel Trip Permit. A full list of online services can be found here.

“We are thrilled with all the awards won by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles website,” said Brent Hoffman, General Manager of Nebraska Interactive. “The recognition of all the hard work, over 690 development hours, is a testimony to the collaborative efforts between Nebraska Interactive and the Department of Motor Vehicles team. Creating a centralized location for DMV online services through a mobile responsive website is the best win for all.”
