ID card icon Overview of Graduated Driver's Licensing

Parents/guardians play an important role in keeping their teen safe at the wheel.  The statistics show that children learn to drive by example, meaning how you drive will directly affect how your teen drives.

The Parent's Supervised Driving Program, is designed to improve teen driver safety by providing parents and guardians with a methodical approach to teaching the requisite driving skills. Each lesson concentrates on a particular sequential skill. Parents are in the best position to help their teens to become safe, smart and skilled drivers. This brochure, explains graduated driver license (GDL) restrictions.

In addition to practicing driving skills, a parent-teen driving agreement is a great tool to keep teens safe on the road. An agreement puts driving rules in writing and holds parents and teens accountable of what is expected.  The Nebraska parent-teen driving agreement lays out important safe driving rules and graduated driver licensing driving restrictions.
